I. Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write a birthday card & information on it

 Grammar points: use the simple futue tense well to make a plan in the future

 Skills: writing and reading comprehension

II. Teaching aid: book, posters and chalk

III. anticipated-problem.

Ss may have some difficulties in find out the answers in B7, so teacher should be ready to help them.

IV. PROCEDURE:

 * Check the old lesson. 5’

 T: call a student to read the conversation again and then complete the form in B5

* Warm up : 
T: greeting and call some Ss to answer some questions about their personal information

T: lead in the topic of the lesson by some questions

 + Who do you often invite to your birthday party?
 + How do you invite them? on the phone or send invitation cards
Ss: listen and then answer the questions 
B6. Read. then complete the card
Pre- reading.
T: require Ss to look at the pictures in B6 and answer the following questions.
Ss: listen and anwer the questions.
? What are they doing in the first picture?
 + They are having a birthday party.
? What is Lan doing?
 + She is writing the invitation cards to her birthday party.
T: ask Ss to look at the passage about Lan and then answer some questions 
Ss: Listen and answer 
+ How old is Lan now ?
 + Where does she live ?
 + When is her birthday ?
 + When will the party start and finish?
 + Will she invite her friends to the party?
While- reading.
T: ask Ss to read the passage before the class

T: call on Ss to answer the questions:

 - She lives at 24 Ly Thuong Kiet street.
 - Her birthday is on May 25th. 
 - The party will start at 5 o’clock in the evening.
T: explain the task of the reading and then allow them time to read themselves and complete the card

T: call some Ss to give their completion and others listen and remark

 B7: Think and write an invitation card
T: explain the task of this exercise 
Ss: listen 
(Now imagine you will be a guest at Lan’s birthday party. What will you do? Seven questions in the book will help you T: ask Ss to read seven questions given in the book silently
Ss: read the questions in silence
T: divide the class into groups and allow them time to discuss
Ss: discuss in groups based on seven questions given 
T: go around in the classroom and help Ss to do. When the time is over, call some Ss to present before the class and the others listen and contribute more
Ss: take part in the activity actively 
B8. Practice writing the invitation card
T: ask SS to look at part B8 page 27. Base on the letter in B6, write an invitation card to invite your friends.
Ss: Write then send to a friend in the class
T: call some Ss to read the received invitation cards aloud in front of the class and give comment.
B9. Play with words.
T: ask Ss to listen and repeat.
Leap year: The year has 366 days.
* Wrapping-up.
T: ask Ss : what tense is used most in the invitation card

T: remind Ss of the form of an invitation card

*. Homework.
T: ask Ss to write an invitation card to invite your friends to your birthday party. Do B8, exercises in the work book and prepare the next lesson: “Unit 3 : AT HOME”

1. Knowledge: 
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know the form of the exclamation to express their feeling: What+ N! And know how to describe their rooms by using the structure: It has; Nouns: tub , shower, sink..; Adjectives: lovely, bright, favorite, convenient..
 Grammar points: What +adj + N !Some adjs such as lovely, bright, favorite. convenient and learn some kitchen appliances
2. Skills: listening and reading comprehension

Ss may not have some mistakes about using the exclamation. T should make them understand it.

T: Require Ss to work in pairs to play the role to practice the dialogue. And then T calls some pairs to read the dialogue between Hoa & Lan before the class.
T: After listening and practicing the conversation , now look at “ Now answer” to answer the questions in your book.
T: Give some minutes to find out the answers for those questions in the textbooks.
Ss: Base on the content of the dialogue to answer the questions.
T: Call some pairs to ask and answer the questions before the class. Then T corrects the answers and asks Ss to write down in the notebooks.
