Warm – up.
- Ask students to read the previous dialogue about Hoa’s parents.
- Ask questions 
 1. What does Hoa’s father do?
 2. What does he do every day?
 3. Where does he work?
 4. What’s her mother’s job?
 5. What does she do every day?
 6. Are they happy?
 Activity 1: READING COMPREHENSION
Pre –reading. 
- Ask students to look at the pictures.
- Ask questions: 
 Can you guess what their jobs are?
- Explain vocabulary 
take care of, teach, write for, primary school, journalist, sick.
- Introduce the text.
- Play the tape for students 
While – reading.
- Ask students to read the text silently.
- Call some students to read the text.
- Ask students to answer the questions about Lan’s family.
- Call some pairs to practice asking and answering the questions 
- Correct mistakes if necessary 
Post – reading. 
- Call students to read the text again
- Guide students to answer the questions in ‘About you’
- Call some students to talk about their family in front of the class.
- Ask students to look at the section 3 to do matching.
- Have students read the definition of the four jobs
 Activity 2: LISTENING 
Pre –listening. 
- Ask students to look at and read the forms in section 4.
- Introduce the names of three foreigners students are going to listen to: Tom, Susan, Bill.
While – listening.
- Play the tape for students three times.
- Call students to read the answers.
- Correct the answers and supply the correct ones.
Post – listening. 
- Ask students to fill in the forms with information they have just heard.
- Let students play the guessing game.
 Guess their jobs.
