I. Objectives:

A. Aims: By the end of the lesson: Ss will be able to:

 + Introduce the language target and school topic: subject, class activities, activities at the recess.

 + Ask and answer the about class activities.

B. Knowledge: Vocabulary: map, do the experiment, how to use, to think, interested, computer science.

 Grammar: “Wh” questions in the present simple.

C. Skills: reading, speaking and writing.

II. Preparation:

 A. Teacher: a cassettes player, tape, some posters.

 B. Students: Writing pads.

III. Procedures:

UNIT 5: WORK AND PLAY
Lesson 1: IN CLASS (Part A1)
I. Objectives:
A. Aims: By the end of the lesson: Ss will be able to:
 	 	+ Introduce the language target and school topic: subject, class activities, activities at the recess. 
	+ Ask and answer the about class activities.
B. Knowledge: Vocabulary: map, do the experiment, how to use, to think, interested, computer science.
	 Grammar: “Wh” questions in the present simple.
C. Skills: reading, speaking and writing.
II. Preparation:
	A. Teacher: a cassettes player, tape, some posters.
	B. Students: Writing pads.
III. Procedures:
A. Warm up:
-Ask Ss to look at the pictures and answer the questions:
a-Where is it?
b-What subject is the picture 2 ?
c- What subject is the picture 3 ?
d-What subject is the picture 4?
	III.New lesson:

I. Pre-reading:
Activity 1: Pre-teach:
- how to use (phrase) cách dùng.
- to be interested in: thích
- a map (n) bản đồ.
- to do an experiment (n) làm thí nghiệm
- computer science (n) môn tinh học
-Ask Ss to read chorally and individually.
* Check vocab: rub out and remember.
Activity 2: Presentation text: 
-Ask Ss to listen to the tape and repeat.
-Call on some Ss to read individually.
-Check Ss’pronuciation.
II. While reading:
Activity 3; Role play
a- Ask Ss to open the books, read the text silently and fill in the grids.

-to learn how to use coputer
-to study maps.
-to do some experiments.
- correct Ss’answers.
Activity 4: Word cue drill:
-Ask Ss to work in pairs,ask and answer in the grids.
III. Post reading:
Activity 5: Write it up:
-ask Ss to answer the questions then write about their classes.
a- What time do your classes start?
b- What do you do in your Computer Science class ?
c- What do you do at school ?
d- What do you study in your Geography class ?
e- What do you do in your last lesson ?
f- What time do your classes end ?
-Let SS answer the qs in front of the class loudly .
-Check Ss’answers.
 -listen and read chorally
 -read individually.
-listen and repeat.
-read in individualy.
-speak out.
Example exchange:
S1: What does Mai do in her C Science class ?
S2:She learns how to use a Computer. 
S1: What does Mai do in her Geography class ?
S2: She studies maps and learn about different countries.
-answer the questions and write in the notebooks.
-write in the notebooks.
IV. Homework assignment:
	At home :	+Learn new words by heart.
	+read the text then answer the questions.
	+write their essay again.
	+Do exercises A1,2 in work book..
