	LESSON 4:	IT’S TIME FOR RECESS (B1) 
I. Objectives:

II. Language contents:
	1. Vocabulary:	recess, chat, skip rope , play blindman’s bluff, play catch, play marbles.
2. Grammar:	Present simple and continuous tenses.
	3. Structures:	What is this boy doing?
	He is playing catch.
III. Techniques:	eliciting, describing, questioning & answering, true/false sentences, 	matching.
IV. Teaching aids:	pictures for presentation and practice, cassette.
V. Time:	45 minutes

Warm – up.
- Have students play the “guessing game” to guess what subject is.
What subject is it?
In this subject we:
 + do some experiments in Electronics.
 + learn how to use computers.
 + study maps and learn about different countries.
 + study how to speak, listen, read and write.
 + learn how to read stories and poems.
 + learn past and present world events.
Pre – reading. 
- Stick the pictures on the board.
- Ask questions 
 a. Where are the students? 
 b. Are they studying?
 c. What are they doing?
- Ask students to match the games and the pictures.
- Correct mistakes if necessary 
- Pre-teach new vocabulary: recess, chat, skip rope , play blindman’s bluff, play catch, play marbles.
- Check vocabulary: RUB OUT AND REMEMBER
- Play the tape for students 
While – reading.
- Ask students to read the text silently 
- Guide students to ask and answer about the students’ recess activities in the picture 
 + What is this boy doing?
 He is playing catch
- Have students notice the present continuous tense.
- Have students do true/false sentences 
 1. The time for recess is at 9.45
 2. All of them are not happy and excited.
 3. They do a lot of recess’ activities.
 4. Most of students like talking much.
- Ask students to give feedback 
Post – reading. 
- Have students ask and answer the questions with partners 
 1. What do you usually do at recess?

- Ask students to tell what activities they usually do at recess.
- Guess what subject it is.
