Period 37 Date of teaching: 25/11/2008 Unit: LANGUAGE FOCUS 2 Objective Knowledge: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: Revise the simple present, present continuous tense, talking about the time Consolidate adverbs of prequency, the school subjects and making suggestions Skill: Speaking & Writing Procedure Settlement: (1’) Check up: (No) New lesson: - Language focus 2 Teacher’s Activities Student’s Activities PRESENT PROGRESSIVE (10’) - Give some sentence & ask Ss some quesions: “what tense is it? ” - Ask Ss to give the form of present progressive tense - Ask Ss to open their book & do exercise 1 in book - call Ss to do SUBJECT (10’) - Let Ss see some picture & ask them to match the picture with right subject - call Ss to match - give feedback - call Ss to fill - listen & five feedback TELLING THE TIME (5’) Ba: What time is it? Nam: It/s nine forty/ twenty to ten - Makes the question and asks Ss to answer it. - Revises them the way to write about the time - Asks Ss to ask and answer in pairs. - Gets feedback and check it with T IV- ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY (7’) - T reminds some adverbs of frequency - T asks Ss - asks them to read the Table and use the cues to write their sentences. - invites the answers and asks the whole to check - call Ss to write on board V- MAKING SUGESSTION (6’) - elicits the way to make suggestions from Ss, then asks Ss to use it with : go swimming - elicits responses, then asks Ss to complete the task in part 6. - invites six pairs to practise and gives Eg: I am studying now He is playing guitar They are listening to music - Ss answer * Form: S + is / am/ are + V-ing is / am/ are + S +V-ing? S + is / am/ are + not+ V-ing * Meaning: * Usage: express the action that is happening Keys: - do -> is doing/ doing. Write -> is writing. Read -> is reading. Cook -> is cooking. Play -> are playing.
