Teaching aids: Books, textbook.... IV. Teaching procedure: Stages/Steps Cotents Activities Warm – up Time: 3’ * Check the old lesson Presentation. Time: 10’ - Ask the Ss read the questions. a) What does Hoa need from the post office ? b) Why does she need some stamps for overseas mail ? c) What does she need to call her parents ? - Let Ss read the dialogue carefully and find the answer to the questions. ( have Ss write their answer on the paper ) - compare with each other. - Two Ss ask and answer the questions in pair. - Teacher corrects. Two pairs of Ss practice the dialogue in front of the class. Answers: a. Hoa needs some local stamps, some stamps for overseas mail and a phone card. b. Because she has a penpal in America. c. She needs a phone card to call her parents. Pairwork Practice. Time: 15’ B3. Complete the dialogue. Then make similar ones with a partner. * Ask and answer the price. - The Ss read the dialogue themseves. - The Ss compare their answers with each other. - Ask two pairs of Ss to read the dialogue in front of class. - Teacher corrects. Clerk: Here’s your change. - Have sts use the words in the box and make other dialogue base on the completed dialogue. - Some pairs read in front of the class. Pairwork B4. Listen and write the price of each of these five items. - T introduces the aims of the exercise. - Ask Ss look at the pictures and read the name of them. There are the things that Robinson is going to buy. - Have Ss listen to the teacher twice. - Ss compare with each other. - Have Ss listen to the teacher the third time to decide their answer. - T write the answer on the board. Answer The total cost is 59.000 dong. She will have 1,000 dong in change. A packet of envelopes : 2,000 A pen : 1,500 A writing pad : 3,000 Five stamps : 2,500 A phone card : 50,000 Tapescript Mrs. Robinson goes to a stationary store and buy a packet of envelopes at 2,000 dong and a pen at 1,500 dong. She also buys a writing pad at 3,000 dong. Then she goes to the post officeand buy five stamps at 500 dong each and a 50,000 dong phone card. Add up how much Mrs. Robinson spends altogether.
