LESSON 1: FAMOUS PLACES IN ASIA (A 1-2)
A.Objectives:

+ Read the dialogue and understand the dialogue between Ba and Hoa.
+ Practice about names of the countries in Asia and their capital cities using:
What is that ? It’s in +country.
II.Skills:listening, reading and speaking.
III.Teaching aids: notebook, cassettes, dish, OHP and posters.

II.Checking: - Write voca. - Answer the questions: What did you do yesterday? III. New lesson: Teacher’activities Ss’ activities. *Warm up : Matching -Ask Ss to choose the capitals of countries with the right picturess. -correct. 1- Language presentation: a) Pre-teach vocab: - an album (n) sổ ảnh - region (n) vùng, miền. - to fly / flai / (v) bay. - a pilot (n) phi công. Check voca: Rub out and remember b) Presentation dialogue : -Ask Ss to listen to the tape and repeat. -call some pairs to read the dialogue. -correct Ss ‘s pronunciation . c) Prediction: T asks two questions: a. What does Ba’s uncle do? b. Which cities does he fly to? 2. Reading comprehension a. Matching: -Ask Ss to match the half-sentences. a-Ba’s uncle is b-Uncle Nghia sends postcards. c-Ba keeps the postcards. d-Ba puts the stams. e- Hoa wants to f-Ba and Hoa would like to visit. -correct Ss’answers. b.Gap fill T asks Ss to fill the capitals to right countries a- Bangkok/Thailand. b-Vientiane /Laos. c-Jakarta /Indonesia. d-Beijing /China. e-Kuala Lumpur /Malaysia. f- Phnom penh /Cambodia. -call some pairs to demonstrate in the class. -correct Ss’practice. 3. Practice: -Ask Ss to practices the following model sentences: A: Where does he fly to? B: He flies to Bangkok. A: Where is that? B: It is in Thailand. -correct Ss’s answers. - watch then choose the capitals. Ss look at the pictures and answer Ss repeat after T Ss copy down 2 Ss go to the board and rewrite. Expected answers: a. He is a pilot. b. He flies to Hongkong, Vientiane, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore, Yangon, Bangkok, ect. a-D- a pilot. b-F- to Ba from the cities he visites c-B- as well as the stamps. d-C in a special book.. e-A to see the stamps f-E many different places -copy down. -read chorally and individually. -divide the class into 2 teams. Each team is 5 Ss . -read chorally. -read in pairs. -read the dialogue again and match. -repeat. -copy down. -give form. -repeat. -work in pairs and practice in form: S1:Where does Ba’s uncle fly ? S2:He flies to Phnom penh. S1: Where is that ? S2: It’s in Cambodia. -read the name of the countries the complete. -speak out. IV. Consolidation: +Ask Ss to work in groups then write the capitals of the ASEAN members. V.Home work : At home : +learn new words by heart. +read the dialogue fluently +write the capitals of the ASEAN members. +do exercises A 1-2 in workbook.
