Objectives: - Ss can review some ways of greeting in certain situations. - Training Ss’ listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. II. New lesson: method content - Introducing the lesson (T.gives the picture of two persons) Mr. Tan is Nga’s teacher. - Now listen to their dialogue between Nga and Mr. Tan. - The first time of listening: books closed - The second time: Ss repeat after the cassette - Ss work in pairs: Making the dialogue with book and then without book. - T. checks some pairs before the class. - T helps Ss to practice greeting to each other due to the dialogue they’ve learnt. - T. asks Ss to give some greetings to some kinds of people (young to old) and how to respond. - T. gives the sub-board (in the box of the textbook): checking if the Ss can understand their meanings (teacher helps Ss to understand their meanings) - Ss listen to each dialogue and complete it by choosing the suitable sentence or phrase to fill in the blank. (Ss complete on the papers) given by the teacher. - Correcting them on the second sub-board. - Some pairs of Ss practice the dialogues before the class. *Pre-listening: - T. gives the whole class four pictures and reminds them about the situation of each picture. For example: Who are they in the picture? Where are they? What are they doing? - T explains how to do this kind of exercise. *While-listening: - T lets Ss listen the dialogue once without writing anything. - T asks Ss to look at the pictures again and to listen one more time, and then write the numbers on the pictures after listening. *Post-listening: - Asking some Ss to give the answers under the pictures on the board. - T. asks Ss the right answers. - T. helps Ss how to pronounce and then Ps read in chorus. - T. Calls some Ss before the class. - T. Remarks if necesssary. A3 Listen. Then practice with a partner: A4 Listen. Complete these dialogues. How are you today? Just fine How are you? Not bad.
