I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson pupils can: 
- Know how to read and use some new words.
- Read comprehension a letter from Hoa's mom, answer questions well 
- Guides or show sbd to do sth.
II. Contents:
1) Vocabulary: New words about health and hygiene.
2) Grammar:	- Simple present
	- Adverbs of frequency
	- Do sth / don't do sth
III. Teaching aids:
	- A sub-board written on the form of simple present
IV. Procedure:

1. Warm up:
- Guide pupils to play a game named "Noughts and crosses"
- Gets pupils to look at the letter and guess who wrote letter to Hoa.
- Teacher says something to introduce the theme of the lesson: Health and hygiene.
2. Presentation:
- Ask pupils some questions:
- Then teacher introduces: Hoa's parents live in Hue and she lives and studies in Ha Noi. You are going to read a letter which Hoa's mother sent her.
- Then teacher reads the letter once first.
- Teacher introduces some new words.
- Guides pupils to get the use and meaning of them.
- Teacher reads new words once first. 
- Guide pupils to read new words twice or more.
- Get pupils to read new words in silence.
- Gets one by one to read new words loudly.
- Check pupils' reading.
3. Practice:
- Teacher reads the letter again once.
- Guide pupils to read.
- Get pupils read the letter in individuation silence.
- Call some pupils to read the letter.
- Get them to read the letter again and translate it in to Vietnamese.
- Get them to compare their translation with each other.
- Call some pairs to translate the letter before class.
- Teacher corrects.
- Get pupils to reread the letter, work in pairs to answer the questions.
- Get them to compare the answer with each other.
- Get pupils to give the answer.
- Teacher corrects, and writes the main point of the answer on board.
- Get pupils to look at part A2, work in pairs to guess Hoa's work.
- Guide pupils to listen.
- Teacher plays the tape once and introduces some new words.
- Teacher reads new words once first. 
- Guide pupils to read new words twice or more.

At recess, she ate her sandwich. Then she drank some water and talked with her friends.
At home, she changed into red pants and a shirt, and put on her sandals.
After dinner, she washed and ironed her clothes. Then she did her homework.
She brushed her teeth and had a bath. Then she went to bed at 11 o'clock.
5. Home work: - Learn by heart new words.

	- Planning lesson, teacher's and student's books.
	- A color pictures about the dialogue.

- Gets 2 pupils to do chalk board.
- Teacher checks and gives mark.
b. Warmer:
- Guide pupils to play a game named: True / False repetition drill about Hoa's work.
2. Presentation:
- Get pupils to look at part A3, and teacher introduces: This is Nam's diary. You work in pairs to ask and answer about his routines.
3. Practice: 
- Teacher reads it once and explains sentence by sentence.
- Get pupils to read it in silence again.
- Call some to read.
- Check pupil's reading.
- Call some pairs to practice asking about Nam before the class.
- Get pupils to write a diary about himself, herself.
- Get them to compare with each other.
- Call some to read.
- Get them to work in pairs to ask and answer.
- Teacher introduces: In the last period, you read the letter from Mom to Hoa. Now you are going to read the letter from Hoa to Mom.
- Call pupils to guess what Hoa wrote to her Mom.
- Teacher reads the uncompleted letter once, and explains some words.
- Teacher reads new words once first. 
- Guide pupils to read new words twice or more.
- Get pupils to read new words in silence.
- Gets one by one to read new words loudly.

- Get pupils to do complete the letter in individuation, and then compare the answer with each other.

- Get pupils to look at part B1 and teacher asks: What's the matter with the boy in the picture? (He has a toothache). If you have a toothache, what will you do? (Go to the dentist). When go to the dentist, what will the dentist do? We are going to read a conversation between Minh and Hoa. Hoa is telling Minh how she had her cavity filled last week.
- Then teacher reads the dialogue once first.

* Tape transcription: Dr. Lai is a dentist at Quang Trung school. She looks after all the students' teeth. Dr. Lai's office is clean and so is her uniform. She always washes her hands after each child leaves. Many children are scared when they come to see Dr. Lai, but she is a kind woman. She explains what will happen so they are not afraid. Dr. Lai gives the children advice. She tells them how to clean their teeth regularly and eat sensibly.
- Teacher introduces: You learned about Minh and doctor Lai. As you know, Minh has a toothache and has to go to the dentist. You will read the passage describing the meeting between Minh and Dr. Lai.
