I. The aims and requests.

- The aims: To help students know the details of Hoa’s letter to get what Hoa’s mother want her to do through imparative form.

 - Requests: By the end of the lesson, the Ss will be able to further practice with the past simple tense by reading a letter from Hoa's mother and her reply.

- Develop Ss’ 4 skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

I. The aims and requests.
- The aims: To help students know the details of Hoa’s letter to get what Hoa’s mother want her to do through imparative form.
 - Requests: By the end of the lesson, the Ss will be able to further practice with the past simple tense by reading a letter from Hoa's mother and her reply.

2. Ckecking up(5’) 
* Answer T’s questions
a. Where were you last night?
b. What did you do?
c. Did you watch television?
d. Did you write a letter?
* Way of checking: Speaking
* Key: - Depend on the start position & Ss’ answer.
- T remarks and gives marks.
3.New lesson(36’)
Instruction to the new lesson(1’)
 Today I’ll help you read a letter from Hoa’s mother to her to get what Hoa’s mother want her to do.

I. vocabulary:
• a harvest : vô mïa, vô thu ho¹ch ( trans)

•(to) iron : lµ, ñi ( visual)
• (to) stay up late ≠ (to) go to bed early: thức khuya ( anto )

II. T/ F statements
- Set the scence : Have Ss answer some T's questions about Hoa.( full name, from, address, phone number...) 
 - You are going to read a letter from Hoa's mother. 
1. Hoa's parents are very busy in the harvest time.
2. Hoa's grandfather never helps them on the farm. 
3. In Ha Noi ,Hoa doesn't take morning exercise 
4. Hoa's mother wants her not to eat much candy.
5. Her mother wants her aunt to wash and iron the clothes for Hoa.
6. Hoa's parents will visit her after the harvest. 
- Have Ss read the statements and predict if they are T or F
- Feed back: Check Ss' prediction.
III. Reading.
1. Feedback. 
 - Let Ss read the letter (P. 99) silently and check their prediction.
- Feed back Ss' answers.
- Get them to correct the false sentences.
 Key: 
 1. T 2. F : never => often
 3. F : doesn't take => usually takes 
 4. T 5. F her aunt => Hoa

2.. Comprehension questions:
- Ask Ss to read the letter again to find the answers for the questions given in the text book. 
- Let them play " Lucky number game" to check their answers.
Key: a. Because it is nearly the havest time.
 b. Hoa's grandfather does.
 c. They will go to Ha Noi soon, after the harvest.
 d. Hoa gets up early and takes morning exercise 
 everyday.
 e, Hoa's mother wants her to wash and iron her own 
 clothes. She doesn't want Hoa eat too much candy 
 or stay up late.
 IV. Revision: Imparatives
Ask Ss to look through Hoa’s mother’s letter again and find what she wants Hoa to do:
Eg: a. Remember to wash and iron your owm clothes.
 b. Don’t eat too much candies or stay up late.
