I. Objectives:

- By the end of the lesson, Sts will be able to:

 + Learn the steps to make a meal.

 + Make a balanced menu for a day.

 + Usage with the adverbs: first, next, then, secondly, finnally, etc.

II. Language focus:

- Vocabulary: spinach, soy sauce, slice (v), pan, plate, recipe, add (v), balanced diet, etc.

Skill : Read

Sub- skill: Listen, Speak, and Write.

 “ Do you have a breakfast today?”.

2. Pre-reading

 - “ Can you cook ?”.

( She is cooking for dinner).
Listen
+ Listen in the 1st time to find out the differences between the tape and the text. (“ Pay attention and listen carefully!”).
+ Listen in the 2nd to find the new words.
 - “ Have any new words?”

+ Heat : (v) (explaination)
+ Stir- fry: (v) (explaination)

3. While reading
( 10’)
Read and then answer the questions.
 - “ Now you are going to read the text carefully about the steps to make a dinner ( work individually) and then answer the following questions (work in small group of three or four)” :
 a. What did Hoa’s aunt cook?
b. What did she do first?
c. What did she do next?
d. What did she do last?
e. What did Hoa do?
Answer keys:
a.She cooked dinner.
b. First, she sliced the beef. 
c. Next, she sliced some green peppers and onions.
d. She sliced the cucumbers and made the cucumber salad with some onions in the last.
e. Hoa helped her aunt to set the table with plates, bolws, chopsticks, spoons, and glasses.
- Translate:
+ Each s will translates a paragraph.
+ Practice some times.
4. Post- reading

Write
 - Topic: “ What did you eat and drink yesterday?”
 - “ Look at the pictures and call the name of food to remember the new words”.
 - Read.
Model sentences:
- For breakfast, I ate  I drank
 For lunch, I .
 For dinner, .
Example:
- For breakfast, I ate bread and drank a glass of milk.
 - Complete the menu like the model.
Practice.
- Ask and answer about your friend’s menu yesterday.
Checking vocabularies:
- Purpose: To Ss remember deeply the new words.
- Task: Match each new word to an appropriate picture.
- Answer keys:

- Read again and repeat one more time.
Review the lesson.
 “In your opinion/ idea, what should/ shouldn’t we do to have a healthy body?”.
- Something that we should do and something that we shouldn’t do to have a healthy body.
 Example:
 + We should eat many kinds of vegestable and fruits.
 + We shouldn’t eat meat too much.
 + Try to do exercise everyday.
 + We also shouldn’t go to bed late and eat fastfood too much.
 + Test your health 6 months one time.
 + You should be always happy and comfortable. 
5. Homework

- Learn by heart the new words.
- Do exercise in the workbook.
+ Asks Ss look at the workbook and explain about the exercise.
+ Give one example to guide Ss to do it.
- Complete a balanced menu for a day/ Write a recipe to cook a simple dish you like/ you know.
- Ask Ss some free questions about the meal and the dish that they like.
