 * Call 2 ss to write 2 sentences using "but" to combine 2 statements
 1. Ba / soccer / yesterday / I.
 2. I / not / like / durians / mother.
 * Way of checking: Writing + reading
 * Key: 1. Ba played soccer yesterday but I didn't.
 2. I don't like durians but my mother does
 * Remark and give mark

* Open prediction.
- Set the scence.
- Have Ss copy the table.
- Have Ss work in pairs to predict the things Lan, Ba, Nga and Hoa had for lunch yesterday 
- Feed back Ss ' answers.
 Example: Lan : noodles , beef , orange juice.
 Ba : rice, fish, vegetables.
* Listen and check.
- Have Ss listen to the tape twice and correct their prediction.
- Feed back their answers.
- Get Ss to listen again to check.
