Teaching aids: a cassette, picture, sub-boards. V. Procedures: 1. Greetings. 2. Warm up: T. helps Ss to correct the exercise B3 in workbook. 3. New lesson: METHOD CONTENT *Presentation: T introduces the the new lesson “Today you are going to know something about Hoa. She is new in Mr Tan’s class and now she has an interview with her teacher. What does Mr.Tan ask her?” Maybe some questions are: How old are you? Where do you live? What’s your telephone number Let them listen to the tape the first time. (books closed) T explains new vocabulary. Let them listen to the tape the second and ask them to repeat the tape chorally. Let them find out the sentences in which the simple future are used. “ I’ll ...” Let some students read the dialogue aloud and then role play it. * Practice: T. asks students to practice in pairs. T. checks some pairs for reading before the class. T. asks Ss to reread the dialogue then discuss with a partner to find out the answers. T. calls some couples to present before the class. T. remarks and corrects if neccesary. Explain how to fill out a registration form. Let students read the dialogue again and then ask them to complete the form of their own. Have one or two students complete the form on the board. Remark and correct if neccesary. Have them copy the form in their exercise books and fill out their own form. - Stick the picture on the board and introduce:You are going to read about Lan. What’s she thinking about? (a party?) What is she doing now? (invitation card) Read and find out the answers to these questions. (given on the sub-board) How old is she? Where does she live? When is her birthday? T introduces some vocabulary Ask students some pre-reading questions. Let students read the passage to themselves. Ask students questions about Lan and her party. Have them practice in pairs ask and answer about Lan. Let them do more free practice about themselves. Explain how to fill out an invitation card. Have them read through the passage again. Let them complete the card. Have them cross-check their answer in pairs. B4 Listen.
