Skill: speaking & writing Preparation: Students’:Textbook, new word Teachers’: Game, pictures Procedure Settlement: (1’) Check up:(5’) Write the exclamation sentences in dialogue A1 New lesson: (30’) Teacher’s Activities Student’s Activities I- WARM- UP - Teacher asks Ss to reread and write out the adjectives in dialogue A1: Complaints Complements - Teacher asks Ss to find out the words in the dialogue that have meaning: + thuận tiện + Hiện đại + Thoải mái II- PRESENTATION T: asks Ss to write out the exclmation sentences in dialogue A1 again. T: confirms and explains the model * Adjectives used for complaining: awful, terrible, boring, expensive, horrible, bad, wet, .... Ex: What expensive hats! What a boring story! * Adjectives used for complementing: great, interesting, delicious, delightful, lovely, beautiful, amazing, .... Ex: What an interesting film! What delicous cakes III- PRACTICE T: uses the pictures A2a and A2b to introduce the situation and asks students to write complementing and complaining exclamations. T: calls some Ss for checking. IV- PRODUCTION T: asks Ss to play the game in groups and write the exclamative sentences: table television armchairs lamps books pictures bed telephone windows - Teacher confirms and corrects. - Ss write out the adjectives Complaints Complements awful lovely, great, nice, beautiful, amazing, bright - Ss find the words in the dialogue. -> convenient -> modern -> comfortable 1. Model sentences Ss: write: + What a lovely living- room! + What nice colors! + What a beautiful bathroom! + What an amazing kitchen! + What a great idea! + What an awful day! Ss: listen to the teacher and copy the form What + (a/ an) + adjective + noun! Ss: listen and provide the adjectives that they know. Then they copy in their notebooks. 2. Practice Ss: look at their books and write: + What an expensive dress! + What a great party! + ... etc. Ss: correct their answers and copy. 3. Game: Noughts and Crosses. Ss: work in two groups: Ex: G1: The table is beautiful. G2: What a beautiful table! These books are interesting.
