Materials needed: Textbook, picture, and cassette. 4. Students’ preparation: Homework, new lesson, teaching aids. IV. Procedure in class: 1. Stabilization: (3ms) a. Warm – up: Makes greetings (Good morning, class. / How are you? ) b. Checking absence: Asks the monitor 2. Checking – up previous knowledge: (5ms) -Has two students read the dialogue and answer some questions or write vocabulary. 3. Each group will choose the number of cross word. If they guess right word, they’ll get 10 marks. They will get 40 marks if they guess right the down word. Which group have more marks, that mean they win the game. Sets the scene of the new lesson. 2.Pre - practice: -Teaches them some vocabulary *Checks vocabulary: rub out and remember -Gives them a guiding question: +What is the picture about? 3.Controlled - Practice: -Reads the passage on page 49 -Has them to read silently -Has them answer the guiding questions. -Hangs on the sub board with the questions -Asks them to read the passage again to answer the questions -Calls some to answer Checks and corrects -Calls some couples to ask and answer -Helps them check the guiding question -Calls some to present -Emphasizes on the structures 4. Free-Practice: -Has them do ”play with words” -Reads -Calls some to read -Has them to play a game +Divides the class into 6 groups +Has them to practise reading as past as possible. +Each group has one representative read the poem. +The student who reads the fastest is the winner. 5.Consolidation: -Reminds them the main points.
