 T: asks some students to tell and write about the subjects Mai learns and her favorite subjects.

* Pre-reading:
T: asks Ss to look at the picture on the board and answer the questions:
 - What’s he doing?
 - What’s his favorite subject?
Ss: can answer the questions in English or in Vietnamese
T: introduces “You will read a passage about Ba. You scan it and tell me what the main idea of the passage is.”
*While-reading:
Ss: scan the passage then tell the main idea.
Ss: try to understand the information in the passage.
T: asks Ss to ask and answer the questions 
bellow the passage.
T: calls some pairs to practice before the class.
T: plays the tape.
Ss: listen and find out some new words.
T: presents and explains the meaning of the new words.
Ss: read new words after the teacher.
T: calls some Ss to read the passage aloud.
Ss: read the passage ( 4-5 students)
T: corrects their mistakes if any.
*Post-reading:
T: asks Ss to ask and answer about yourselves.
Ss: work in pairs.
T: calls some Ss to present before the class.
T: corrects their mistakes if any.
*Pre- reading:
T: asks:
 - Do you like math?
 - Is it difficult or easy?
Ss: answer
T: introduces “ we are going to hear the dialogue between Lan and Hoa. They are solving a math. You will scan the dialogue. Then answer the question “ How much does it cost?”
*While – reading:
T: asks Ss to read the dialogues in silence then
 find out some new words.
T: explains the meaning and leads Ss to read.
Ss: read new words after the teacher.
T: calls some pairs to read the dialogue aloud.
Ss: read the dialogue in pairs.
* Post reading:
T: calls some Ss to answer the question: “ How much does one banana cost?”
Ss: read the dialogue in silence again to answer the question.
T: corrects their mistakes if any.
A3. Read. Then answer the questions.
