- Teacher asks pupils some questions: 
+ What time do your classes start?
+ What time do they finish?
+ How many hours a day do you do your homework?
2. Presentation:
- Teacher says: You will hear a conversation between Hoa and her uncle about schoolwork.
- Teacher reads the dialogue once.
- Teacher introduces some new words
- Write new words on the board.
- Guide pupils to get meaning of new words.
- Teacher reads new words once.
- Guide pupils to read new words twice or more.
- Let pupils reads new words in silence.
- Call some pupils to read new words.
3. Practice:
- Teacher reads the dialogue once.
- Guide pupils to read.
- Get pupils read the dialogue in pars in silence.
- Call some pairs to read the dialogue.
- Get them to read the dialogue again and translate it in to Vietnamese.
- Get them to compare their translation with each other.
- Call some pairs to translate the dialogue before class.
- Teacher corrects.
- Get them to work in pairs to answer questions: a, b, c, d then compare the answer with each other.
- Call some pairs to ask and answer before class.
- Then teacher corrects.
4. Consolidation:
- Get pupils to work in pairs to ask and answer questions: e, f, g then compare the answer with each other.
- Call some pupils to give out the answer.
- Then teacher corrects.
- Then teacher repeats the main contents of the lesson.

II. Contents:
1) Vocabulary: find, really, important, Easter, Thanksgiving, Spend,

III. Teaching aids:
	- Planning lesson, teacher's and student's books.
	- Some color pictures about holidays.

- Teacher asks pupils some questions:

+ How many public holidays a year do your parents have?
+ How many public holidays a year do Vietnamese pupils have?

- Then teacher leads in to new lesson.
2. Presentation:
- Get pupils to look at part A2 and answer question: In your opinion, what is the letter about?
- Then teacher says: This is Tim's letter to Hoa in which talk about Tim's parents' work and American public holidays.
- Teacher reads the letter once.
- Introduce some new words.
- Write new words on the board.
- Guide pupils to get meaning of new words.
- Teacher reads new words once.
- Guide pupils to read new words 
- Let pupils reads new words in silence.
- Call some pupils read new words.
- Teacher introduces new form.
- Give an example.
- Explaining.
- Set up new form.
- Translate the modern sentence.
- Get pupils to make up sentences.
3. Practice:
- Teacher reads part A2 once.
- Guide pupils to read.
- Get pupils to read A2 in silence.
- Call some pupils to read part A2 loudly.
- Get them to read part A2 again and translate part A2 in to Vietnamese, then compare their translation with each other.
- Call some pupils to read loudly their translation.
- Teacher corrects.
- Get them to read part A2 in silence again and answer questions, then compare the answer with each other.
 - Call some pupils to give out the answer.
- Teacher corrects.
- Get pupils to look at part A3 and guess what American celebrations are in each picture.
- Then teacher guides pupils to listen: You listen to the tape in which talk about American celebrations, You listen and match their name with the right picture.
- Let pupils to listen twice or three times.
- Get pupils to compare their answer with each other.
- Call some pupils to give out the answer.
- Teacher corrects.
Lời thoại: Tim enjoys all the public holidays. At Christmas, he always gets a lot of gifts. Thanksgiving is an important celebration, and there is always turkey and lots of good food. In Tim's hometown, there is always a large firework display on Independence Day. Tim likes New year because he can stay up until midnight and celebrate with his parents.
4. Consolidation:
- Teacher introduces more about American celebrations:
Easter là ngày lễ quan trọng của thiên chúa giáo rơi vào ngày cuối tuần cuối tháng 3 hoặc đầu tháng 4. Vào những ngày này những tín đồ thiên chúa giáo chào mừng sự sống lại của chúa Jeus.
Lễ Easter gồm ngày "Good friday" đến ngày "Easter Monday". Hình ảnh tiêu biểu cho những ngày này là quả trứng được sơn nhiều màu sắc vui mắt (Easter eggs), và hình ảnh thỏ con (Easter Bunny). Quả trứng tượng trưng cho sự sinh sôi, tạo hoá và sự sống mới. Thỏ mang những quả trứng được sơn nhiều mầu sắc đến cho trẻ em và giấu đi cho các em tìm kiếm, giống như ông già Noel mang quà trong ngày lễ giáng sinh.
Thanks giving: Lễ tạ ơn được tổ chức ở hoa kỳ vào ngày thứ năm của tuần thứ tư của tháng 11. Đó là một ngày lễ trong đó mọi thành viên của gia đình ăn một bữa ăn truyền thống gồm có thịt gà tây, gà nhồi, xốt cranbery, khoai lang rán, bánh mỳ bắp, rau luộc và bánh nhân bí.
