Objective: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
Undrestand and use the Simple past in Affirmative form to talk about the past vacation.

*)Lead-in: (2’)
 - Asks Ss to look at the picture at P.86 and answer the questions:
?Where is it/ Is it in Nha Trang? / Do you like Nha Trang?
- Introduces Liz/s vacation in Nha Trang.
 I- PRESENTATION (18’)
- Elicits first and says out the words
- Writes and checks 
- checks vocab. : R.O.R
- Introduces the dialogue between Liz and Ba and asks Ss to read through it.
- Asks Ss to pick out the sentences Liz says
- Writes down and asks Ss to compare it with the Simple Present tense.
- Does concept check.
- Gives notes , makes the use and form more clearly &runs through the models.
- Notes: Prununciation: /ed/
+ ED - à/id/: when it comes after the verbs ended with: /t/, /d/
+ ED - à/t/: coming after the verbs ended with unvoiced sound: p, k, f, s, ....
+ ED - à /d/: when it comes after the verbs ended with voiced sound.
 II- PRACTICE (10’)
- Writes the words on the board and asks Ss to read the text to complete it.
- Gets feedback.
- Helps Ss to correct them.
- Shows the cards and makes the model.
- Explains “ did” and instructs Ss to practise.
- Asks Ss to write the full sentences on the board.& asks the whole to check.
 III- PRODUCTION (5’)
- Asks Ss to work in groups with Excer. A2 - P.53 (workbook).

1. Vocabulary
- Aquarium (N) (Example): hồ, bể cá
- (a) Gift = (a) present (Example): quà
- (to) Return (Trans): trở về
- Delicious (Adj) (Trans): ngon
- try out and repeat chorally- individually
- give the meaning & the stress
- read and then rewrite the rubbed – out words.
2. Presentation dialogue
- Practise the dialogue, following T/s instructions.
- Says out the sentences.
- Give their ideas and compare its form..
- Pick out the used target language and give the meaning, use, form.
- Copy down.
*) Model:
-The people were friendly.
- The food was delicious
- I visited Cham temples
- I bought a lot of gifts
*) Use & Form: When we talk about activities happened in the past and not relevant to the present, we use the Simple past tense:
- S + Vpast + (object)
+ V-Regular : visit àvisited
+ V-Irregular: to be à was/were
 to go à went ...........
 - to study à studied , to play à played
 - stop à stopped
3. Write the past form of the verbs
- Work in groups, read through the text.
- Write their answers on the board.
- Explain and correct themselves.

4. Word cue drill
- Follow teacher/s model

- Write the sentences on the board.

*)Example exchange:

5. Write it up
- complete it in groups , using the verbs in brackets in the past form, then write their answers on the board .
- check the results with T.
Consolidation: (4’)
asks Ss to revise the form and use of the Simple Past tense.
Asks the question: What did you do yesterday?
