Activity 1. Practice asking the way
- ask Ss to look at the map in section A3- page 81 to guess places in this map.

- give model sentence:
Nga: Where is the bank?
Nam: The bank is between the hotel and the restaurant. It’s opposite the hospital
- ask Ss to practice in pairs.
- ask some pairs to practice in front of class.
- give feedback and correct.
Activity 2. Listen the directions and write down the name of places
- ask Ss to look at the map again.
- play the tape and ask Ss to write the names of shop, offices they hear following the directions in the tape.
- ask Ss to compare their work with partner.
- ask Ss to present their work in front of class.
- give feedback and correct.
- give correct answer keys.

Activity 3. Ask and answer about distances
- ask Ss to look at Vietnamese map in section A5- page 82 and guess cities in this map.
- ask Ss to practice asking about distances between these cities.

I. Objectives

- Ss will able to ask about price at the post office.
- Vocabulary: envelope, altogether, to pay, change, to cost, writing...
- Grammar: make request and ask about price.
2. Skills:
- listen and read.
- practice the dialogue.
II. Preparation:

III. Procedure:

- hang a poster about post office and ask Ss to guess services in post office

buying envelopes/ stamps: mua phong bì/ tem thư

- listen and practice the dialogue fluently.

Practice to listen the dialogue
- set the scene: You will hear a conversation between Nga and Hoa. they are on the way to post office. Can you guess what they want?
- play the tape and ask Ss to compare with their work.
- ask Ss to read the dialogue in silent and answer questions.
- ask Ss to compare with their partners.
- ask Ss to present their work in front of class.
- give feedback and correct.
- give the correct answer:
Hoa needs some local stamps and some some stamps for overseas mail and a phone call.
She needs s tamps for overseas mail because she has a pen pal in American.
She needs a phone card to phone her parents once a week
- play the tape again and stop in each sentence to explain new words and phrases:
