Ex: lived, arrived, hoped, agreed, completed, improved, decided, scored, invited, received, realized, . . . - Ñoái vôùi nhöõng ñoäng töø taän cuøng laø “-y”, tröôùc “-y” laø moät nguyeân aâm giöõ theâm “-ed”. Ex: played, stayed - Ñoái vôùi nhöõng ñoäng töø taän cuøng laø “-y”, tröôùc “-y” laø moät phuï aâm, chuùng ta ñoåi “-y” thaønh “-i” roài theâm “-ed”. Ex: studied, tried - Ñoái vôùi nhöõng ñoäng töø moät vaàn taän cuøng laø moät phuï aâm (tröø W, H, X, Y) maø tröôùc phuï aâm laø moät nguyeân aâm, chuùng ta phaûi gaáp ñoâi phuï aâm cuoái tröôùc khi theâm “-ed”. Ex: stopped, planned, fitted, crowed, relaxed - Ñoái vôùi nhöõng ñoäng töø coù töø hai vaàn trôû leân, taän cuøng laø moät phuï aâm maø tröôùc phuï aâm laø moät nguyeân aâm; neáu daáu nhaán chính ôû vaàn cuoái cuøng thì ta phaûi gaáp ñoâi phuï aâm cuoái tröôùc khi theâm “-ed”. Ex: permitted, occurred - Ñoái vôùi nhöõng ñoäng töø coù töø hai vaàn trôû leân, taän cuøng laø moät phuï aâm maø tröôùc phuï aâm laø moät nguyeân aâm; neáu daáu nhaán chính ôû aâm ñaàu tieân thì ta giöõ nguyeân theâm “-ed”. Ex: listened, happened - Theâm “-ed” vaøo caùc tröôøng hôïp coøn laïi. Ex: watched, planted, rented * Irregular verbs. Usages - Thì quaù khöù ñôn ñöôïc duøng ñeå dieãn taûsöï kieän ñaõ xaõy ra vaø chaám döùt hoaøn toaøn trong quaù khöù. Ex: He lived here 10 years ago. They were in Nha Trang. He was on a farm last summer. - Thì quaù khöù ñôn dieãn taû moät söï kieän xaõy ra suoát moät khoaûng thôøi gian trong quaù khöù vaø chaám döùt hoaøn toaøn trong quaù khöù. Ex: He studied at this school for three years. They spent their holiday at the seaside during the summer. - Thì quaù khöù ñôn dieãn taû moät söï kieän xaõy ra trong quaù khöù vôùi thôøi gian ñöôïc xaùc ñònh. Ex: Where were you last summer? F I stayed with my uncle a week ago. * Nhöõng traïng töø chæ thôøi gian: yesterday, ago, first, in + year, last ( day / week / month / year / summer / morning . . . ) * Change these sentences into negative. a.
