PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm – Up: (5’) - Chat with students: 1. What subjects are you good at/bad at? 2. What subject do you need to improve? 3. How often do you have English? - Have students do brainstorming: ask students to write their ideas on the blackboard. How to improve your English? Suggested ideas: 1. Speak English to friends in class. 2. Watch English TV 3. Read English stories 4. Do grammar exercises. 5. Read English newspapers/magazines. 6. Listen to the English radio program. 7. Listen to English songs. 2. Pre – Speaking: (8’) - Ask students to look at the questions and the answer cues on the page 48. 1. When do you do your homework? Ê I do my homework after dinner. 2. Who helps you with your homework? Ê My brother helps me with my homework. 3. How much time do you spend on English? Ê I often spend half an hour on English. 4. Which subject do you need to improve? Ê I need to improve English. 5. What do you do to improve your English? Ê I read all the lessons I have learnt, and do the grammar exercises. 3. While – Speaking: (15’) - Have students ask and answer the questions in groups / pairs. - Call some students to practice before the class. Questions Your partner 1. When do you do your homework? 2. Post – Speaking: (15’) - Ask students to look at part Listen/ p.48. - Play the tape for students. - Ask students listen to the dialogue and complete the report card. - Call some students read the answer. - Listen and correct the answer.
