Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write a letter about a future plan with “Be going to”, write about activities of the Y & Y.

OBJECTIVES: Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write a letter about a future plan with “Be going to”, write about activities of the Y & Y. II. PREPARATIONS: Book III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm – Up: (5’) - Have Ss talk about their future plan, using the structure “ I’m going to + Verb ”, and the verbs have to begin with a letter from A to Z T: I’m going to accept their invitation. S1: I’m going to buy a new pen. S2: I’m going to clean the house. S3: I’m going to - Ask Ss the use of Be going to ª to express a future plan. 2. Pre – Writing: (10’) - Ask Ss to read the notice silently. - Explain vocabulary : + plan (to do sth): + recycle (v): + natural resources (n) + earn money (v): + raise funds (v) : - Ask some questions: a. What is the Y & Y planning to do? b. What do the members of the Y & Y have to do in the recycling program? c. What is the purpose/aim of the recycling program? d. What other programs can members of the Y & Y participate in? - Ask Ss to complete the letter. - Ask Ss to give feedback. 1. community 2. recycling 3. collect 4. send 5. recycling 6. save 7. raise 8.participating 9.planting 10. helping 3. While – Writing: (15’) - Introduce the dialogue. - Ask students to read the dialogue carefully to write a letter to her parents. Suggested answer Dear Mom and Dad, I’m very happy to tell you that I’m going to join the Y & Y Green Group of my school. The Green Group is holding/having an environment month plan. We are going to clean the banks of the lakes on weekends. We are go9ing to plant trees and flowers in the school garden and water them every afternoon after class. We are planting young tress and plants to sell to other schools. We hope that we can give more green color to the city and earn some money for our school Y & Y. The program is very interesting and useful, isn’t it? I will tell you more about the group activities later Love, Hoa. 4. Post – Writing: (13’) - Ask students to exhibit their result on the poster and stick it on the board. - Correct mistakes if necessary. 5. Homework: (2’) - Rewrite the letter. - Do the exercise 4/p.41-42 (workbook) - Prepare next lesson: Language focus/ p.60 - 62. - Individual work. - Listen. - Read silently - Listen and write. - Whole class. - Pair works. - Give feedback. - Listen to the teacher. - Group works. - Stick the letter on the board. - Read and correct.
