UNIT 3: A TRIP TO THE COUNTRYSIDE
Lesson 4: WRITE
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Educational aims: Develop student’s love for their home village
2. Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write a short paragraph describing a story happened in the past – a picnic in the countryside.

1. Warm - up (5’)
- Have Ss answer some questions about going on a picnic
1. Have you ever gone on a pinic?
2. When did you go? Where?
3. How did you get there?
4. What did you do?
5. when did you come back home?
6. Do you enjoy it?

- Answer the questions
2. Pre - writing (10’)
- Have Ss look at the pictures and answer the questions
1. Who are they?
2. Where did they go?
3. How did they get there?
4. What did they bring? 
5. What did they do?
- Introduce new words:
+ lay out (v)
+ picnic site (n)
- Whole class
- Write down.
3. While - writing (18’)
+ Activity 1:
- Have Ss read the cues given for each picture.
- Have Ss pay attention to simple past tense.
- Call some Ss to give examples.
+ Activity 2:
- Divide class into 6 groups, each group will write one picture.
- Get the answers of 6 groups into a paragraph describing a pinic in the countryside.
- Correct the mistakes
 It was a beautiful day, my friends and I decided to go on a pinic. We took a bus to a countryside then we walked about 20 minutes to the pinic site next to th river. We put down the blanketand laid out the food. After meal we played games” what song is it? and blindman’s buff”. Late in the evening, we went shopping, we enjoyed our pinic.
When we looked at the time, it was nearly 6.30 p.m. We hurriedly gathered things and ran to the bus stop. We were luckly to catch the last bus and we arrived home very late in the evening .

Play game “What song is it?” about some English songs or Vietnamese songs.
