- By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to get further information about the media : Television and know some TV programs in Vietnam .Ps can listen and complete the table.

 + Vocabulary and structure: documentary , children,scorner , weather forecast

 + Skill : Speaking , writing, listening / pair work .

2. Speak
Work with a partner.Read the dialouge.
Make similar dialouge.Talk about the programs you like and dislike.
3.Listen
Listen to a conversation between Chau and her father .Fill in the table.

Remark and lead in the new lesson .
*Pre – speaking : 
- Introduce the aims of the lesson and some new words , Give other Game shows
 Documentary (n) : 
 Health for everyone (n) 
 Wheel of fortune (n) : 
+ The price is right (n) : 
+ Catch phrase: 
+ Who wants to be millionaire ? 
+ The road to the Olympic Peak .
Checking technique : Rub out and remember 
- Introduce the tag- questions : 
+ Form : Negative .affirmative 
 Affirmative .Negative 
Example : It is a nice day , is not it ?
 She is not beautiful , is she ?
- Call on some Ss to read the examples aloud .
* While – speaking : 
- Ask Ss to work in pairs .
- Call on some pairs to practice in front of class. 
- Correct mistakes if any . 
- Ask Ss to look at the table and make similar dialogues to talk about the programs you like and dislike . 
- Go around class and provide help if any . 
- Call on some pairs to demonstrate in front of class .
- Correct mistakes and give suggested dialogues : 
Tam : You like watching films , don’t you 
 Hung ? 
Hung : Not really . Some films are boring and some are so violent . I do not like watching them . I prefer music programs ,especially Songs I love .
Tam : I am opposite . I love watching films . They are wonderful . Music programs seem quite boring to me 
Hung: But you watch Wildlife World , do not you ? 
Tam : Yes , everyday . It is very interesting to know about animals and faraway places .
Hung : I enjoy it , too. You do not like Drama , do you ? 
Tam : No , I do not . 
* Post – speaking : 
- Ask Ss to write a passage about what you like or dislike and explain the reasons .
- Call on some Ss to read their writings . Correct mistakes . Then give suggested writing : 
 I like watching TV programs . They are very useful . I can learn many things from thses programs . They can help me find solutions to my problem in life . They give me entertainment after a hard working day
* Pre- listening : 
- Introduce the aims of the lesson and some new words : 
- Printed newspaper (n) : Explanation 
- Telegraph ( n) : Translation 
- Radio and newsreels ( n) = radio and documentary 
- Journalism ( n) 
- Viable 
* Checking Technique : What and where 
- Introduce the aims of the lesson “ Chau – a student was given an assignment about the inventions of the media . She needs some information to finish her assignment . She is asking her father for some information .” 
- Have Ss look at the table and predict .
- Write their predictions on the board . 
* While – listening : 
- Turn on the tape ( 2 or 3 times ) 
- Ask them to exchange their results to compare . 
- Call on four Ss to write their results on the board .
- Turn on the tape again and check their answers . Then give the correct answers : 
a) the late 19th century 
b) radio and newsreels
c) in the 1990s
d) the Internet 
- Call on some Ss to read the complete sentences aloud .
* Post – listening : Play role 
- Ask Ss to play role of Chau and Chau,s father , using the information they have heard and these questions : 
1. When and where was the first newspaper appeared 
2. When was the telegraph invented ?
3. What two new forms of news media appeared in the early 20th century ?
4. When was television become popular ? 
5. What became a major force in journalism in the mid and late 1990s ?
- Call on some pairs to practice in front of the class. 
- Listen and correct mistakes if any . 
Play games
 ( Group work )
-Listen and copy down 
- Repeat in chorus and individually .
- Guess its meanings 
- Copy down .

-Give examples .
-Read them aloud .

Practice in front of class.
- Look at the table and make similar dialogues

- Repeat the suggested dialogue in pairs
- Work individually and compare with a friend to correct mistakes if any .

- Report their dictations aloud .

- Exchange and compare their results .
- Go to the board to write their answers . 
- Listen again and check their answers .
