 PAST SIMPLE TENSE
 HOW TO ADD “-ED” AFTER VERBS 
 I. Objectives :
 1) Knowledge : 
 - Guide Ss how to distinguish between regular and irregular verbs.
 * Grammar : 
 + The past simple tense in three forms
 • How to add “-ed” after regular verbs
 • Affirmative form
 • Negative form
 • Interrogative form (question form)
 2) Skills : 
 - Focus on writing skill. 
 3) Attitude : 
 - Students prepare new lesson (3 forms of past simple)
 - Students practise in individual, pairwork, groupwork.
 II. Teaching aids :
 - English 7, Exercise book 7, Extra boards, Reference books 7
 III. Procedures :
 1)Warm - up :
 - Ask Ss to repeat the forms of the past simple tense and how to use it.

 a) Thông thường chúng ta thêm “ed” vào sau

 câm, chúng ta chỉ thêm -d
 Ex :

 regular verbs + Trước -y là một nguyên âm (a,o,e,u,i), 
 chúng ta chỉ thêm –ed
 Ex : 
 play → played / stay → stayed 
 - Have Ss say some - Ss give some + Trước -y là một phụ âm, ta đổi -y thành -i, 
 exampls examples in front of rồi mới thêm –ed
 class Ex :
 study → studied / try → tried
 d) Động từ một vần, tận cùng bằng một phụ 
 âm, trước nó là một nguyên âm, chúng ta gấp 
 - T continues to - Ss copy grammar đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm –ed

 e) Động từ hai vần, vần thứ hai được nhấn dấu 
 trọng âm, tận cùng của động từ là một phụ âm, 
 - Call some others - Some others read trước nó là một nguyên âm. Chúng ta gấp đôi

 Ex : permit → permitted
 Notes : 
 - Ask Ss to - Ss concentrate and Những động từ hai vần, dấu nhấn ở vần một.
