a) Đối với những động từ cú quy tắc

b) Cỏch phỏt õm của những động từ cú quy tắc ở dạng quỏ khứ đơn (ED)
* Nếu tận cựng bằng cỏc õm /t/ hoặc /d/ thỡ ED thờm vào được đọc là /id/

Thỡ quỏ khứ đơn thường được dựng :
Để diễn tả một hành động , sự kiện hay tỡnh huống sảy ra ở một thời điểm xỏc định trong quỏ khứ và đó chấm dứt.
Ex: I was a student in 1999.
 We lived in Ha noi when I was 5 years old.
Diễn tả một chuỗi cỏc hành động trong quỏ khứ.
Ex : My uncle took me to a piano concert lastnight.It was a pleasant everning. I met many interesting people. The weather was nice. I really enjoyed the concert.
Thỡ quỏ khứ đơn thường được sử dụng với trạng từ chỉ thời gian :
+ Last night/week/year/summer/semester/holiday/Monday..
+ IN 1545/1998/2000/2008
+ two days/four weeks/ago. + yesterday.
The past simple tense .
