V.Procedure: Teacher’s and students’ activities Content Recap:(5ms) - Show the pictures of activities and have Ss make exchanges: + What are they doing? + They are talking to one another. + They are playing catch - Check the homework Warm up:(3ms) Ask the students the question: What do you usually do at recess? Students take turn to answer the question Pre-reading (10ms) - Show the picture of Tim and introduce: He is Hoa’s pen pal. He is from America. - Have Ss list some school recess activities in America.( They guess). - T introduces the new words. - Check Vocabulary by matching words with their meanings after practicing the pronunciation While-reading (15ms) -Have Ss listen to the text. -Have Ss read the text again and check the list above (Do you play . . . ? ) -Have Ss read the text and work in groups or pairs to choose the best answer. -Have Ss clarify the answers. - Ask the students some more questions about the text - Students read the text again and answer the questions in pairs - Call some pairs and have them practice asking and answering the questions - Teacher gives comments and feedback Post-reading (10ms) -Have sts work in groups of 3 or 4 to take a survey. - Some representatives present their result to the rest of the class. - Have Ss say “ Play with words” Remember: (2m) Have the students find out the main structures and grammar points in the section Have them practice and give some more examples Rearrange the words to make meaningful sentences They are talking about their class Some boys are playing marbles The yard is noisy until the bell rings Find the mistakes and correct them He plays sometimes marbles with his friends Some girls are skip rope in the school yards. One Student uses an action which can illustrate an activity. The whole class guess what it is. Pre-listening (10ms) What do you do after school? Warm up: (3ms) Sts play a game: T gives Sts one picture, Sts illustrate the picture by using the gerund phrase.
