Open prediction
	Lan's Malaysian pen pal came to visit her in Hanoi. Can you guess where she went and what she did during her stay?
	Give feedback to the whole class to the open prediction.
	Asks students to read the text again to choose the correct option to complete the sentences on page 7 (work in pairs)

1. Lan and Maryam usually write to one another every two week.
2. Maryam was impressed because Hanoi people were friendly.

 Lesson 2: Speak and Listen
Aims: - Make and respond to introductions.
	- How to give the respond to the introductions and improve some knowledge about other country like Malaysia.
- Improving students' listening skill
Objectives: - By the end of the lesson students will be able to make and respond to introductions, give the respond to the introductions and improve some knowledge about other country like Malaysia.

II./ Warm up.
Let students play Pelmanism. Teacher prepares 10 cards at home with numbers on one side and the countries and their cities on the other.
- Make sure the countries and the cities are mixed up. Stick the cards on the board and Ss can see the numbers only.
- Asks Ss to choose two numbers if they match e.g: Tokyo - Japan. If not turn the cards face down again and ask other team to choose. Continue until all the cards are turned over.

1/ Pre – teaching
Teacher introduces the situation: Nga is talking to Maryam. They are waiting for Lan out side the school. Asks students do the exercise on page 8. Now you work in pairs to put the sentences in the correct order.
Answers:
Nga: Hello. You must be Maryam.
Maryam: That's right, I am.
Nga: Pleased to meet you. Let me introduce myself. I'm Nga.
Maryam: Pleased to meet you, Nga. Are you one of Lan's classmates?
Nga: Yes, I am. Are you enjoying your stay in Vietnam?
Maryam: Oh yes, very much. Vietnamese people are very friendly and Hanoi is very interesting city.
Nga: Do you live in a city too?
Maryam: Yes, I live in kuala Lumpur. Have you been there?
Nga: No, Is it very different from Hanoi?
Maryam: The two cities are the same in some ways.
2/While - teaching:
- After finishing the exercise teacher asks students some questions to check their understanding.
1. Have Nga and Maryam met each other before? 
(No)..
2. Is Maryam enjoying her stay in Hanoi?
 (Yes).
3.What does she like in Viet nam?
..(Vietnamese people is very friendly and Hanoi is a very interesting city)
- Now using the dialogue above teacher asks Ss to practice ( Teacher - Whole class, Open pairs, Closed pairs, ... ) after the change the role.
- T introduces the lesson
- T looks at the picture and taking about them.
- Sts talk about the situation of the lesson.
- Play the tape
- Sts listen and find out where Tim and Carol are and that they are doing.
- Sts listen and choose the correct answers.
- Sts compare their answers with the partner’s.
- T checks the answers with the whole class.
3/Post - teaching:
"You are talking to Maryam's friends. Introduce yourself, your friends"
Example:
A: Hello. You must be Yoko.
B: That's right, I am.
A: Are you enjoying your stay in Hue?
B: Oh yes, very much. i like Vietnamese people and I love old cities in Vietnam.
A: Do you live in a city too?
B: Yes, I live in Tokyo. Have you been there?
A: No, What is like?
B: It's a busy big capital city. It is very different from Hue.
- Now you complete the dialogue like above (in pairs) First you complete the dialogue in pairs then practice with your partner.
- While students do the tasks, teacher goes round, takes notes things should be corrected after words.
