Lesson 3: IN CLASS (Part A(4,5,6,7)
I. Objectives:
A. Aims: By the end of the lesson: Ss will be able to:
 	 	+ Review the subjects, class activities and time classes.
	+ Reading comprehension of study in Vietnam.
	B. Knowledge: Vocabularies: essay, events, equation, globe, atlas, author, as well.
	 Grammar: The present simple.
C. Skills: Writing, speaking, reading, listening.
II. Preparation: 
A. Teacher: some posters, a cassette player, tape.
B. Students: writing pads.
III. Procedures:
A. Warm up:
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and answer the questions:
- write new words on the board.

I. Pre-reading:
Activity 1: Pre-teach:
- essay /e’sei / (n) bài văn 
- events /I’vent / sự kiện 
- a calculator (n) máy tính.
- equation (n) phương trình.

- author (n) tác giả.
- as well: cũng như.
- Ask Ss to read chorally and individually.

Activity 2: Open- prediction:
- ask Ss to predict the subjects that will appear in the text.
- write on the board.
II. While-reading:
 a-Ask Ss to open the books ,read the text silently and check their predictions.
Activity 4: Answer the questions:
-Ask Ss to read the text and answer the questions.
1- What do you study at school ?
2-What do you learn in Liturature ? 
3-Do you study past and present events in History ? 
4-What subject do you learn about different countries and their people ?
5- Do you speak English in Language class ?
6- What other things do you study ?
 -Ask Ss to write these answers on the board.
-correct Ss’answers.
III. Post-reading: 
Activity 5: Listening:
- Ask Ss to tell name of subjects in the pictures in Part 4 P 54.
-Let Ss listen to the tape 3 times then go to the board and write the answers.
-Correct Ss’ answers.
