Teacher’activities Ss’activities. *Warm up: Revision. -Ask Ss to change the verbs into the past form: Leave, like, fill, have, get, stop, remember. -Correct. 1.Language presentation. a) Pre-teach vocab: - have a bad cold: (v) bị cảm - have a headache /hedeik / (v) đau đầu. - sick /sik/ (a) ốm. - sick note (n) giấy ốm. - have a virus (v) nhiễm vi rút. - have the flu /flu:/ (v) cbij cúm - have a stomachache (v) đau dạ dày. *Check vocab: Matching. -Ask Ss to match the name of disease with right meaning. b) Presentation dialogue: -Ask Ss to listen to the tape and repeat. -Call Ss to read in pairs. c) Answer the questions. -Let Ss read the dialogue silently and answer the questions. 1-Why didn’t Lan go to school yesterday? 2-What is wrong with her? 3- What does Mr Tan tell Lan to do? 4- What did the doctor say about Lan’s problem? 5- Who wrote Lan’ sick note? d) Grammar: Model sentence: What was wrong with you? -write on the board. 2- Practice: Word cue drill. Example exchange: S1. What was wrong with you? S2: I had a headache. -Correct. 3- Production: Survey: -Ask Ss to work in group of 5 and 6 Ss. S2: I have the flu. -call per group present in class and correct. -Ask Ss to answer the question: What was the most common illlness? -Go to the board and write on.
