*Warm up: Chatting
- Ask Ss to answer the questions:
1- What is your favorite food?
2-What do you always have for breakfast/lunch/dinner?
3- Do you think your diet is balanced?
-correct.
-Elicit new lesson:Food plays an important part in our life .It gives us the main energy for body development.Thus,a balanced diet is especially important.
1-Pre-reading:
a) Pre-teach vocab:
- balanced diet (a) chế độ ăn cân bằng
- to affect (v) ảnh hưởng.
- moderation (n) vừa phải, điều độ 
-energy (n) năng lượng.
- amount = quality (n) số lượng.
- body-building (n) phat triển cơ thể.
- dairy product (n) sanr phẩm trang trại.
- plenty of: nhiều.
- cereal (n) ngũ cóc.
- guidelines/gaidlain/ (n) lời hướng dẫn.
*check vocab: Matching
-write on the board.
2- Pre-reading:
a) Ask Ss to read the text and check their prediction.

b) Comprehention questions:
-Ask Ss to read the text again about 3ms .Work in individually and answer the questions.
a) Name two advantages of eating sugar.
b)Is a balanced diet alone enough for a healthy life style? Why? Why not?
c) Do you think your diet is balanced?

3. Post-reading:Write -it-up
-Ask Ss to work individually and write a menu for yourself and your family including details of breakfast,lunch,and dinner.
