New lesson: METHOD CONTENT * Pre-listening: Ss will look at the picture. T helps Ss to recognize the places in the map: Lan’s house, school, post office, market, theater. T asks some suggesting questions: (?)Is Lan’s house near / far from school? (?) Is Lan’s house near the market / the post office / the theater? The first time of listening: T. asks Ss to listen and find out four distances in the dialogues (for the best Ss) T explains the meaning of vocabularies. T gives the sub-board with some suggestions : From school to Lan’s house From Lan’s house to the post office From Lan’s school to the movie theater From the movie theater to the post office * While-listening: Asking Ss to listen to the second time and fill in the measurements of distances The third time: Ss listen and check again. * Post-listening: Check Ss by asking them to write the results they’ve heard. Ask Ss to ask and answer about these distances again (pairs of Ss) before the class. Remark and correct if neccesary. T asks Ss to write these sentences on their notebooks. _ Give a survey form and explain the instruction. Let them read through the form and elict the types of question needed. What’s your name? What’s your address? How do you go to school? How far is it from your house to school? Give models. Have students ask and answer in pairs, and then fill in the survey form. Have students check the form in pairs. Have them write in their notebooks. _ T asks Ss to ask and answer together. B6 Listen and write How far is it? Write the four distances. Vocabulary: - Distance (n) - Movie theatre (n) Answer: School to Lan’s house: 300 meters Lan’s house to the post office: 700 meters School to movie theater : 3 kilometers Movie theater to post office : 2 kilometers B7 A survey - survey(n) - means of transport(n) Remember: What’s your name? What’s your address? How do you go to school? How far is it from your house to school? Where do you live? How old are you? 4. Consolidation: T asks Ss to do exercice:(uses a sub board) Match the questions with the answers. What class are you in? – At weekends. What’s your name? – About 2 kilometers.
