1/ Warm up / Check up : (5’)
+ 2 Sts ask & answer about address, distance from houses to school and means of transportation.
 Others do exercise in workbook.
- Correct and give marks.
- Play the game : noughts & crosses 
 a/ Pre- listening : (10’)
- Hand out the picture in textbook and introduce the situation.
“ This is Lan’s house / school / theater / post office / market.”
- Ask : “ Is Lan’s house far / near from her school / theater.? How far is it from ..?”
- Write Sts’s prediction on the board.
b/ While - Listening : (15’)
- Use colorful chalk to draw the 4 distances on the picture & ask Sts to pay their attention to the 4 distances.
+ Listen & write the answers ( compare with partners)
+ Listen again & write the answers.
+ Check.
- Give the correct answers and compare with sts’ prediction.

Lan : My English book is still at home.
Hoa : How far is it from your house to school, Lan?
Lan : It’s about 300 meters. I can go home at recess.
Hoa : I need some stamps. Where is the post office, Lan ?
Lan : It’s not far from my house. Come with me.
Hoa : How far is it from your home ?
Lan : Only 700 meters.
Lan : Let’s go to the movies.
Hoa : OK. Where is the movie theater ?
Lan : It’s in the center of Hanoi.
Hoa : How far is it from school ?
Lan : It’s 3 kilometers. We can take the bus number 2.
Hoa : Oh, my letter is in my pocket.
Lan : We can post it after the movie.
Hoa : How far is it from the movie theater to the post office ?
Lan : About 2 kilometers.
c/ Post - Listening : (10’)
+ Copy the answer and practice asking and answering. “ How far is it from ...to...?” “ It’s about ...”
3/Consolidation : (4’)
- Give the Qs words.
+ Read all the questions in the textbook.
- Ask Sts to write 6 other qs. Then practice asking & answering.
