Aim: By the end of the lesson, Students will be able to form an adverb, then use adjectives and adverbs correctly to talk about activities . II. Teaching method: T- Wc, H – H, individual/ pair work, groupwork II. Teaching aids: E.7 textbooks, cassette, tape, projector IV. Procedures I. Warm - up: Face to face SS play game ( six students ) , say aloud the adjectives they know from the first one to the last one ( one student say one word in turn , then continues with other rounds ) Eg: tall, hot, beautiful, The student who is the last one say the correct adjective is the winner. T leads in the lesson. II. Presentation: 1. Pre - teach vocabulary: - skillful (adj ) : điêu luyện (translation ) => Skillfully (adv ) - safe (adj ) an toàn ( antonym ) => safely (adv ) - quick (adj ) nhanh ( translation ) => quickly (adv) - slow (adj ) chậm ( antonym ) => slowly (adv ) - cycle (v) đi xe đạp ( visual ) => cyclist (n ) người đi xe đạp ( explaination ) => Checking vocabulary: ROR. 2. Presentation text: Gap fill T gives out sentences with gaps. T plays the tape twice. SS listen and fill in the gaps. 1. He's a soccer player. He plays 2. He's a .. volleyball player. He plays . 3. She's a .. swimmer. She swims 4. She 's a bad tennis She tennis badly. 5. She's a quick .. . She .. quickly. 6. She's a cyclist. She cycles T gives feedback. T gets ss practice reading sentences in individuals T calls some ss read again the sentences. T takes out model senetences. => She 's a slow swimmer. => adj before noun/ after tobe. Adj N She swims slowly. => adv after or before verb V adv => Form : adj + ly = adv => Note: - good ( adj ) => well ( adv ) - verb + er = noun ( play => player ) => Use: modify verbs III. Practice: 1. Word cue drill T runs through the cues. Make model with the first one. SS practice step by step/ part by part. ( one student => in chorus => closed pairs => open pairs ) * Cues : 1. Hoa / speak / quick. 2. Miss Lien / teach / good. 3. Ba / play badminton / skillful. 4. Mr Nam / drive / safe. => Example exchange: S1: Hoa is a quick speaker. S2: Hoa speaks quickly. T calls some pairs present in front of class. T gives feedback. 2. Write ( A5 ) - T gets ss to do A5 individuals ( Change the adjectives in brackets to adverbs ) - T calls ss to come to bb and write down the answer. Production Dictation list Careful Work Read Slow Clear Write Cycle Bad Cook Strict Learn Skillful Sing Safe Good Drive Careless Quick Walk Play SS use the words given in the table to make correct sentences individuals SS come to bb and write down in two teams. Eg: He's a careful worker. / he works carefully. The team has more correct sentences is the winner. - T sums ups the lesson using mindmap V.
