Checking the old lesson:(5’) - T guides Ss to play a game: Networks Most popular sports in the USA - T asks Ss to work in groups. - T calls on Ss from 2 groups to go to the board and write. - T remarks and states the group which wins the game. b. New lesson: T’s Activities Content Ss’ Activities - T asks Ss to Take a class survey: - T calls on some groups to practice in front of the class. - T asks Ss to write the number of students who like each sport best, then complete the table in the notebooks. - T asks Ss to answer the question: What sport is the most popular in the class ? - T introduces the situation of the lesson, then ask Ss to look at the pictures and call the names of the pictures. - T explains some new words to Ss. - T guides Ss to play game: What and Where - T introduces how to change adjectives into adverbs and the use of Adj and Adv: - T asks Ss to make sentences using adjectives and adverbs. - T asks Ss to look at the books and listen to the tape. - T asks Ss to work in pairs reading the text. - T calls on some pairs to practice in front of the class. New activities: Take a class survey:(7’) What sport is the most popular in the class ? * Listen. Then practice with a partner. Adjectives often go with To Be Adverbs often go with ordinary verbs + Ss work in groups asking their classmates what sport they like most. - Listen to the teacher. - Listen and write down. - Read new words in chorus and individually, then copy down. - Ss play game: What and Where - Listen to the teacher carefully. - Make sentences with the adjectives and adverbs. - Look at the books and listen to the tape. - Work in pairs. - Practice reading in front of the class. c. Consolidation: (5’) - T summarizes knowledges in period: - T asks Ss to Repeat the way to change adjective to adverb. Give some cues and ask Ss to make sentences. + Slow / slowly / swimmer + Quick / quickly / runner + Bad / badly / volleyball Make example: + She’s a slow runner She runs slowly. Have Ss work in pairs. Call on some pairs to practice in front of the clas . Correct the mistakes. d. Home work: (2’) T demands sts to: + Learn by heart new words and structures by making sentences with them. + Do exercise 3, 4 at page 83 in workbook. + Prepare part A4-5. ***************************************
