A. TELEPHONE NUMBERS

I. Objectives:

- Training how to talk on the phone.

- Ss can make arrangements and talk about future plans.

- Training Ss’listening, reading, speaking, writing skills.

II. Language contents:

1. Grammar:

- The future simple with “Where will we .?”,”We’ll ”

- The structures : “Would you like to ?”, “Don’t be late!”

2. Vocabulary: free(a), sure(a), greet(a)

III. Techniques: Picture cues, pair work, role plays

IV. Teaching aids: a cassette, pictures, sub-board.

A. TELEPHONE NUMBERS

I. Objectives:
Training how to talk on the phone.
Ss can make arrangements and talk about future plans.
Training Ss’listening, reading, speaking, writing skills.
II. Language contents:
1. Grammar: 
The future simple with “Where will we.?”,”We’ll”
The structures : “Would you like to?”, “Don’t be late!”
2. Vocabulary: free(a), sure(a), greet(a)
III. Techniques: Picture cues, pair work, role plays
IV. Teaching aids: a cassette, pictures, sub-board.
V. Procedures:
1. Greetings.
2. Warm up:
T. asks two students to stand at the board, make a conversation (Ask and answer some private information according to the teacher’s suggestions)

3. New lesson:
METHOD
CONTENT
*Presentation:	
T. asks Ss to look at the picture in the book and answer some questions:
Who are in the picture?
What are they doing?
What is Phong’s telephone number?
Ss. listen the first time (books closed)
Listen the second time (books open). Ss listen each sentence and repeat after the cassette-player
T. explains the new words.
T. introduces more about the simple future tense:
Ex1: Will you be free tomorrow evening?
Yes, I will.
Ex2:What time will it start?
It’ll start at seven o’clock.
Introducing the structure:
“Would you like + to-inf?” a polite invitation.
Ex: Would you like to see a movie?
Yes, I’d like to / Sure
Introducing the sentence “Don’t be late!”
T. helps Ss to read the structures. 
Ss listen to the last one.
* Practice: 
T. asks students to practice in pairs.
T. checks some pairs for reading before the class.
T. gives the questions on the sub-board and Ss discuss in pairs.
T. calls some couples to practice before the class.
T. Remarks and corrects the mistakes if neccesary.
 *Pre-listening:
T asks students some questions to set new situation.
Do you sometimes go to the movie ?
Would you like to see a movie?
Do you want to go to see a movie?
How do you get to the theater ?
Where do you often meet?
 *While-listening:
Ss. listen the first time (books closed)
Listen the second time (books open). Ss listen each sentence and repeat after the cassette-player.
 *Post-listening: 
Have students cross-check their answers with one another.
Let students write the correct answers on the board.
Have them copy in their notebooks.
 Free practice
T. gives Ss some suggested questions (T. may ask or help Ss to ask and answer)
Do you like to see a movie?
Do you often go to the movie theater / concert?
Where do you often see a movie?
How do you go to the movie theater?
T. introduces some more telephone language.
Let them read the dialogue.
Elicit, then explain the new language.
Have them read, then role play the dialogue.
Let them ask and answer the questions in pairs.
Ask individual students to answer the questions before the class.
Ask them further questions.
Give correct answers.
Have them write the answers in their exercise notebooks.
Ask them to pick out all the sentences of the new tense “will + bare_inf”
Explain when the simple future tense is used.
 - T asks Ss to read in chorus and then practice with their partner. T encourages Ss to learn by heart “play with words”
A4: Listen and read. Then answer the questions.
*Vocabulary:
- free (a)
- Would you like + to_inf?
- sure (a)
- great (a)
Don’t be late (expr)
*Answer:
Phong and Tam will meet tomorrow.
They will see a movie.
They will meet at 6:45
They will meet in front of the movie theater.
A5 Listen. Then write the answers.

THE SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE
Use:
Dïng ®Ó diÔn t¶ mét hµnh ®éng sÏ x¶y ra trong t­¬ng lai.
Form:
S + will / shall + bare_inf
Notes:
Shall not = shan’t
Will not = won’t
A: Play with words..
4. Consolidation:
 T: asks Ss to answer the questions:
 - Will you be free Saturday evening? 
 - Would you like to...........?
 Ss: answer. 
5. Homework:
 T: asks Ss to do:
Learn by heart the structure.
Do Exercise A 4,5 (T may give some cues for how to do the exercise)
Prepare period 9:Lesson B1,2,3
