New lesson: Method Content T: sticks the picture on the board and asks: Which building is it in the picture? Do you know which the largest library in the world is? T: asks students if they know any puplic libraries in HCM city or any famous libraries in the world. T: points to the picture and introduces “This is one of the world’s largest libraries” T: why? We will come to the new lesson today. * Pre-reading T: gives them some new words. T: reads new words. Ss: repeat new words after the teacher T: corrects their mistakes if any * While-reading T: asks Ss to read the text and answer the questions below.(uses a sub-board) 1. Where is the Library of Congress? 2. How many books does it have? 3. How long are its shelves? 4. How many people work there? 5. Why is it so large? T: asks Ss to compare the result with a partner. Ss: work in pairs. * Post-reading: T: calls somes Ss to read the answers aloud and others to write them on the board. T: corrects their mistakes if any. T: plays the tape. Ss: listen. T: pauses each sentence Ss: repeat. T: calls some Ss to read the text aloud. Ps: read the text ( 5 students) T: corrects their mistakes if any. T: plays the tape. T: presents them some new words. Ss: read new words after the teacher. T:plays the tape once more.(pauses each sentence) Ss: listen and repeat. T: devides the class into two groups. Ss: read in groups. Who is the librarian? Ss: answer. 5.
