Procedures: Greetings. Check up: T checks some Ss’ work book. New lesson: Method Content *Presentation: T: asks Ss some questions: - What subject do you like best? - What do you ussualy do at recess? (T: can translate into Vietnamese) Ss: answer. T: asks students to look at the picture on the board and answer some questions: - Where are the children? - What are they doing? - When do they usually do these games? Ss: answer. T: introduces “Today, we are going to hear the tape describing various after – school activities at a recess” T: plays the tape. Ss: listen ( books closed). T: has Ss listen the tape again ( book opened) and find out the new words. Ss: listen and find out some new words. T: explains the meaning then lead Ss to read. Ss: repeat new words after the teacher. T: asks Ss to read the passage again and try to understand the main ideas of the passage. T: asks Ss to read the sentences using the formation of the present continuous tense. Ss: tell the formation of the present continuous tense. Practice: T: asks Ss to look at the picture again and practice in pairs with the cue: A: What is the boy doing? B: He’s playing catch A: What are the chidren doing? B: They are talking. Ss: work in pairs. T: calls some pairs to go to the board, point to the picture to practice. T: remarks and corrects their mistakes if any. T: calls some Ss to read the passage aloud.
