Method : Communicative approach. 2. Techniques: Question and answer, Repetition, game, ,pairwork and groupwork. 3. Materials needed: Power point equipment, books. III. Procedure in class: 1. Stabilization ( 3ms): a. Warm up: Teacher greets the students and ask the health b. Checking absence: Asks the monitor about the absence: “Who‘s absent today? 2. Checks up the previous lesson - Teacher asks one student some questions: a. What school do you go to? b. Which grade are you in? c. How many days do you go to school? - Teacher listens to the student and gives the comments and marks 2. Introduces the lesson: - Teacher leads in the new lesson and says: “What about Mai?”, “What does Mai study at school?”. Let’s begin Unit 5 to get the right answers. - Teacher shows the tittle on the screen. Unit 5 WORK AND PLAY Period 26 In class (A1) - Teacher asks the students to look at the pictures on the screen ( or in their books) and then say somethings about the pictures.“ In this lesson you are going to listen and read a picture story about Mai’s subjects at school. -Teacher introduces :” Mai is a student at Quang Trung school. She is in grade 7. She goes to six days a week, from Monday to Saturday” and teaches vocabulary II. Pre- practice: 1. Teaches vocabulary: - Teacher teaches vocabulary 1. how to use ( using a picture) - Teacher says: ‘ Loan knows how to use the piano, but I don’t know the way to use it well 2. computer science (n. phr) ( writing an example) - Teacher writes: -> Mr. Tuong teaches you computer science 3. tobe interested in (v. phr): (Example) I enjoy English. What about you? - Are you interested in English? 4. do some experiments (v.phr ) (using equipments for an experiment in Physics ) - Teacher says: Now, I am doing some experiments - Teacher reads vocabulary and lets students repeat 2. Checks understanding of vocabulary: - Teacher asks students to complete the sentences with the missing vocabulary they have just learnt. - Teacher presents the sentences on the screen: 1. Who teaches you .............................at school? 3. Sets the scene: Teacher has the class look at the pictures and asks the guidings questions: a. In the first picture, where is she in? b. In the second picture, what is she studying? c. In the third picture, ... - Teachers listens and checks students’ guiding answers. Then asks them to prepare for listening the text III. Controlled- practice: - Teacher lets students listen to the tape twice to get some information about Mai at school. - Then teacher asks “ What subject does Mai study at school? - Teacher asks students to read in silence the text to get information in more detail and to know what Mai studies in these subjects. -Teacher calls four representatives to read the text aloud, then corrects their pronunciated mistakes ( if there are). -Teacher asks students some questions about Mai: 1. What does Mai study in her Geography? 2. What is her favorite class? -Teacher has the students work in pair to practice asking and answering five questions about Mai with the other subjects : S1: What does Mai learn in her Computer Science ? S2: She learns how to use computer S1: What does she study in her Physics? S2: She does some experiments -Teacher suggests some questions : a. How many days a week does Mai go to school? b. What is her lesson today? - Teacher calls some pairs to ask and answer the questions. - Teacher requires students to write their questions and answers on the board. - Teacher observes and corrects IV.
