Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions about the lesson schedule of different subjects, understand the dialogue between Jim and his Mom about his study, use reported speech.

II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm – Up: (5’) - Have students write “Networks” in groups. School subjects - Chat with Ss: a. What subjects are you good / bad at? b. What subjects do you like best? Why? c. How often do you have (math)? 2. Presentation: (10’) - Ask Ss to look at the picture and introduce the lesson. - Pre-teach vocabulary. + a report card (n) + be proud of + semester (n) + improve (v) + pronunciation (n) + improve (v) + try one’s best to do sth. + believe (v) + promise (v) - Play the tape 3 times. 3. Practice: (15’) - Have Ss read the dialogue in pairs. - Ask Ss to do True/ False sentences. - Have Ss give feedback. - Have Ss correct the false sentences. a. F ª Tim was at home. b. T c.
