LESSON 3: LISTEN
I. OBJECTIVES:
 Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
	- Listen and fill in the missing words in the weather forecast.
	- Write weather forecast.
II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape
III. PROCEDURES:

1. Warm – Up: (5’)
- Have students draw a mind map about “Weather forecast”
2. Pre- Listening: (10’)
- Introduce new words:
1. minus (n)
2. centigrade (n)
3. degree (n) 
4. snowy (a)
5. humid (a)
- Ask students to practice new words.
- Call some students to practice in front.
- Check vocabulary: “Rub out nad remember”
- Have students guess True/ False statements.
a. It will be very cold in Sydney today.
b. A low temperature in Tokyo will be 32oC.
c. London will be hot.
d. A high temperature in Bangkok will be 32oC.
e. It will be windy and cloudy in New York. 
f. Paris is going to have a humid today. 
- Get feedback.
3. While- Listening: (15’)
- Play the tape for students 2 times, and check True/ 
Fasle.
- Play the tape for students again, and fill in the gaps with missing information.
- Call some students to read the answer.
1. Sydney: dry- windy; 20; 26
2. Tokyo: dry-windy; 15; 22
3. London: humid-cold; -3; 7
4. Bangkok: warm-dry; 24; 32
5. New York: windy-cloudy; 8; 15
6. Paris: cool-dry; 10; 15
- Have students role play, make a dialogue ask and answer about the weather of each city.
A: What is the weather like in Sydney today?
B: It will be dry and windy.
A: How about the temperature?
B: The low will be 20 and the high will be 26 degrees.
4. Post-Speaking: (13’)
- Have students write today’s weather forecast in Viet Nam, using the information:
+ Ha Noi: 20 – 270C - warm
+ Hue: 25 – 300C – windy
+ Ho Chi Minh city: 30 – 320C – sunny
Ex: Here is today’s weather forecast. In Ha Noi, it will be 
- Call some students to read the answer.
