Michael Faraday, the great English physicist, was born in 1791 in London .His family was very poor and he didn't learn much. When he was 14, he worked in a bookshop where he had a good chance to read books. He used to go to some talks about science. One day Michael went to a talk by Humphry Davy, England's greatest scientist of the time. He liked Davy's talk very much and a few months later he became Davy's laboratory assistant. Like Davy, he became interested in electricity which could be made by machine. He died in 1867.
