 Period 2: Comparative and so
Aims:
 Practice in comparative and so.
Objectives:
 By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to make sentences with comparative and so.

Vocabulary: Adjectives
Structures:
 S1 + tobe + short adj + er + than + S2.
 more + long adj
 So + tobe + S.
Teaching aids:
 Charts, cards
Ways of working:
 Teacher – Ss, Whole class, teams, groups, pairs and individually.
Anticipated problem:
 Ss might have difficulty in using long adjectives.

1. Warmer ( 5’ )
- Greeting and checking attendance.
- Brainstorming “Adjectives”.
2. New lesson ( 38’ )
a. Presentation ( 10’ )
- Ask Ss to give form, use, meaning and explain.
- Elicit Ss to make examples and explain.
- Let Ss to read the sentences.
b. Practice ( 10’ )
- Have Ss ask and aswer to make similar dialouges then correct.
- Get Ss to make dialouges with a partners.
c. Production ( 18’ )
- Give exercises and tell Ss to do.
* Put the words in the correct order to make meaningful sentences:
a./ older / my / than / father / yours / is.
b. / books / more / these / than / ones / are / expensive / those.
c. / sister / so / my / is.
d./ going / this / he/ to / soccer / is/ afternoon /play ?
* Complete the sentences:
a. This school – bag / big / that / one.
b. Nam / careful / than / brother.
c. What / Mai /do/ tonight ? She / do / homework ? 
d. Your mother / go to work / Sunday ?
3. Homework ( 2’ )
- Let Ss consolidate the lesson.
- Learn by heart the structures.
- Prepare: Transports and distances.
