 Period 3: Transports and distances
Aims:
 Practice in means of transports and distances.
Objectives:
 By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and anwer about transports and distances.

Vocabulary:
 Means of transports.
Structures:
 How + do/does + S + Vinfi ? S + V(s/es)  + by + N(phương tiện).
 How far is it from  to  ? It’s + khoảng cách.
Teaching aids:
 Charts, cards
Ways of working:
 Teacher – Ss, Whole class, teams, groups, pairs and individually.
Anticipated problem:
 Ss might have difficulty in using “the” in front of nouns of place.

1. Warmer ( 10’ )
- Greeting and checking attendance.
- Brainstorming “Means of transports”.
2. New lesson ( 38’ )
a. Presentation ( 10’ )
- Ask Ss to give form, use, meaning and explain.
- Elicit Ss to make examples and explain.
- Let Ss to read the sentences.
b. Practice ( 10’ )
- Have Ss ask and aswer to make similar dialouges then correct.
- Get Ss to make dialouges with a partners.
c. Production ( 18’ )
- Give exercises and tell Ss to do.
* Complete the sentences:
• Where / your uncle / live ?
 He / live / Le Duan Street.
• How / it / movie theater / to / post office ? 
 It / about two kilometers.
• How / Mr Brown /travel / Viet Nam ?
 He /travel / plane.
3. Homework ( 2’ )
- Let Ss consolidate the lesson.
- Learn by heart the structures.
- Prepare: The simple future tense.

Play the game in teams.

• Hỏi đáp về khoảng cách:

How far is it from the movie theater to the post office ? It’s about two kilometers.
How does Mr Brown travel to Viet Nam ? He travels by plane.
