- Dùng diễn tả thói quen, hành động thường xuyên xảy ra lặp đi lặp lại ở hiện tại.
- Diễn tả chân lí, quy luật, sự thật luôn đúng.
- Lịch/ thời khóa biểu/ chương trình/ kế hoạch.
- Dùng trong mệnh đề chỉ thời gian tương lai và thường đứng sau “as soon as/ when/ until”.
- Dùng trong modal it/ unless của câu ĐK loại 1.
- Các đt phải thêm (es) là các đt có tận cùng : o/x/z/s/sh/ch. 
Đặc biệt: Study – studies
- Các đt khác chỉ thêm (s).
- (es) đc đọc là /iz/.
- (s) đc đọc là /s/ khi đứng sau (f/k/p/t).
- (s) ------------ /z/ sau các âm còn lại.
Present progressive
Now/ at the moment/ at present/ right now

Am/is/are + S + V_ing
- Diễn tả hành động đang diễn tả ngay tại thời điểm lời nói. Hành động đang diễn ra và kéo dài trong 1 t/g ở hiện tại.
- Dùng trong câu bắt đầu bằng các từ mệnh lệnh: Look1 Listen!...
- Diễn đạt h/đ sắp xảy ra trong tương lai gần.
- Diễn đạt sự chuyển đổi trong cấu trúc S + tobe + getting/be coming + adj (so sánh)
Eg: The weather is getting warner.
Past simple

- Diễn đạt h/đ đã xảy ra và hoàn toàn kết thúc trong quá khứ.
- Dùng trong câu miêu tả hay nhiều h/đ nối tiếp nhau trong quá khứ ko phân biệt trước sau.
* Cách đọc /ed/
- ed đọc là /id/ khi đứng sau /t,d/
- ------------ /t/ ------------------ /k,p,s,f,sh,ch/
- ------------ /d/ ----------------- các âm còn lại.
Past progressive tense
S + was/were + V_ing

Was/were + S + V_ing?
- Diễn đạt d/đ đang xảy ra tại thời điểm xã định cụ thể trong qk.
I was cooking dinner at 5pm yesterday.
I cooked dinner yesterday.
- Diễn đạt 1 h/đ đang xảy ra trong pk thì có h/đ khác cắt ngang.
Yesterday morning, I met Hoa while I was walking to school.
- Diễn đạt 2 hay nhiều h/đ cùng đồng thời đang xảy ra (dung while làm lieen từ).
Yesterday evening, I was reading comic while my sister was watching TV.
Simple future
Tomorrow/next week someday/ soon
S + Will +V + O
S + Will not + V+ O
Will + S + V + O?
Will not = won’t
- Diễn đạt khi quyết định sẽ làm gì trong lúc nói.
- Dùng trong câu ĐK loại 1 (main clause_
- Dùng đưa ra yêu cầu, đề nghị, hứa hẹn 
Note: Ta dung shall thay cho will khi đưa ra lời gợi ý:
Shall me meet tonight?
The near future
S + am/is/are going to V

Am/is/are + S + going to V
- Dùng diễn đạt dự định kế hoạch, những quyết định từ trước, h/đ chắc chắn sẽ xảy ra.
