LESSON 5: IN THE CITY (B4)
I Objectives :
	+ .Teaching aim: - By the end of the lesson, SS can listen the names of activities.
 - Help ss develop listening skill.	
II Language contents :
	 + Grammar : 	-Review the simple past tense.	
	 + Vocabulary : play chess .
III Techniques :	eliciting , brainstorming ,questioning and answering , matching .
IV Teaching aids :cassette , pictures for presentation , handouts for practice . 
VI Procedures :
1/Warm – up * Play game “Networks
- Have ss write ‘NETWORKS’ with the words: 
 CITY
 COUNTRYSIDE.
-Have SS answer the question.
. Why do you like to live in the city/in the countryside?
2/Pre – listening
- Have ss look at the pictures and name the entertainment activities.
- Ask ss to write the simple past of the verbs: play, listen, see, watch, go.
-Call some SS to write them on the board.
-Make correction.
3/While – listening
- Guide ss how to do listening.
 There are six activities that Ba, Hoa, Nga, Nam, Lan, and An did yesterday evening.
-Have ss listen and match.
- Let them cross-check the answers with their partners.
- Ask ss to give the answers in front of the class.
-Make correction.
4/Post – listening
- Ask ss to write the transcript.
-Call some SS to read them in front of the class.
- Have ss make a table to list the advantages and disadvantages of living in the city & countryside.
- Ask ss to answer the questions in 
B2 based on the table..
5/Homework 
- Write a short paragraph about the advantages and disadvantages of living in the city/countryside.
6/Remarks
- Write ‘NETWORKS’
- Answer the questions.
- Name the pictures
 a. play chess
 b. play table tennis
 c. listen to music
 d. see a movie
 e. watch a soccer match
 f. go to the restaurant
-Work in pairs.
- Write them on the board.
