I. Aims:
Listening and reading about a conversation between Hoa and her aunt when they went to the market to buy food for meals.
II. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to apply more new words about food in daily life.
Vocabulary: Pork, spinach, cucumber, papaya, pineapple, durian, meat stall, selection of, wide, on display.
Grammar: Student will be able to practice the structures: Let’s .
I don’t like either, I like, too. Neither do I, so do I.
Skill: Listening, reading, speaking.

(A1, 2) Aims: Listening and reading about a conversation between Hoa and her aunt when they went to the market to buy food for meals. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to apply more new words about food in daily life. Vocabulary: Pork, spinach, cucumber, papaya, pineapple, durian, meat stall, selection of, wide, on display. Grammar: Student will be able to practice the structures: Let’s. I don’t like either, I like,too. Neither do I, so do I. Skill: Listening, reading, speaking. Teaching aids: Text book, tape, picture, projector. Ask students some questions: How are you today? Are you ok? What’s the weather like today? Who is the monitor? Who is absent today? Getting started: T asks students some questions: What do you often have for lunch/ dinner? How many kinds of food do you know in English? Playing game: Have students play game: Matching words with pictures. Show some words and pictures about food on the screen. A 1. Oranges 2.Apples 3. Banana 4.Milk 5. Pea 6. Fish C B E F D Then ask student to look through and match each picture with one suitable word. Call some students to tell their answers. Show the key answer on the screen. Teacher explains the meaning of the new words and get students to read loudly. Then call on several students to stand up and read all new words loudly. Check vocabulary: Matching Show pictures and ask students to match each pictures with one suitable word in group of four. 1.Cucumber 2. Spinach 3. Meat stall 4.Durian 5. Pineapple 6. Papaya C B A F E D Answer: 1-E 2-A 3-F 4-B 5-D 6-C Set the scene: Ask students: “Have you ever gone to the market?” “ who went with you?” , “what kinds of food did you buy?”. Yesterday , Hoa and her aunt went to the market. Can you guess what they bought? Students make their guess and teacher writes on the board. T: You are going to listen to the conversation between Hoa and her aunt. You will know what they bought. Play the tape and get students to listen to the conversation. Teacher reads the dialogue ( from Yesterday to Ok) and ask students to read after. Teacher introduces the new structure at the first dialogue: Structure with Neither : Neither + Aux + S: Diễn tả sự đồng tình phủ định. Eg: A: I don’t like milk. B: Neither do I. S + Be(am, is, are) + not +N. Neither +Be + not + S Eg: I am not English. Neither is she. T: So, yesterday I didn’t go to school. You also didn’t go to school. How must you say? Yeah! You must say that: “Neither did I”. Teacher reads the second dialogue( from Next to Some of those) and ask students to read after. Teacher explains the structure with Too, Either and So: Cũng như Neither, Either được viết thêm vào phần cuối câu phủ định. Diễn đạt sự đồng tình phủ định. S + aux + not + V +O/N. S + Aux + not, either. Eg: A: I don’t like peas. B: I don’t, either. S + Be(am,is,are) + Not + N. S + Be + not, either. Eg: A: I am not an engineer. B: I am not, either. Too được dùng ở cuối câu khẳng định. Dùng để diễn đạt sự đồng tình khẳng định.( Tôi/ anh ấy cũng vậy). Eg: I like fish. She likes fish, too. Eg: I am very happy. I am, too. Ngoài Too, So cũng dùng để diễn đạt sự đồng tình khẳng định: So + Aux + S Eg: A: I like spinach and papaya. B: So do I. Eg: A: I can play the piano. B: So can I. Teacher reads the last dialogue( from Finally to I Hate Durians) and students read following. Then ask sudents to practice the dialogue in pairs. Call on them to practice. Ask students to answer the question: “What did Hoa and her aunt buy at the market?” Write the list. Keys: List: Beef, spinach, cucumber, oranges. Teacher explains new grammar again: Neither/ either dùng để diễn đạt sự đồng tình phủ định. Dùng trong câu phủ định. Neither đứng ở đầu câu: Neither+ Aux+ S. Either đứng cuối câu: S+ Aux + not, either. Too/ so dùng để diễn đạt sự đồng tình khẳng định. Dùng trong câu khẳng định. Too đứng ở cuối câu: S+ Aux, too. So đứng ở đầu câu: So + Aux + S. Get students to practice to talk about their hobbies. Teachers can ask students some questions such as: “I like beef. What about you?” Ask students to practice to ask and answer the questions by using “too, so, either, neither” Call on some pair to practice. Exercise 1: Complete the following sentences by choosing suitable word to fill in the blank. Either Too So Neither I like egg .. do I I don’t like fish I don’t,. I don’t like spinach does Mai.
